An arson attack on a house in Belfast is being treated as attempted murder, police have said.

The occupant escaped uninjured but was left badly shaken and had to be treated in hospital for shock.

The attack happened in Mill Valley Drive in the north of the city just after 11.30am on Thursday.

Police have renewed their appeals for information.

"Detectives are treating this incident as attempted murder," a PSNI spokesman said.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police CID at Tennent Street on 0845 600 8000.
