Hunt for man after woman raped

Detectives are hunting a man after a woman was raped in Co Down.

The attack happened at a coastal path in the Downshire Road area of Bangor during the early hours of this morning.

The woman had accepted a lift from three men at the Eisenhower Pier area at about 3am.

Police are investigating reports that she was assaulted by one of the occupants of the silver Ford in which she had been travelling.

He is described as being around 6ft with dark brown hair and was wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans.

Officers from the PSNI's Belfast-based rape crime unit are appealing for information.
