TV star mentalist David Meade’s resumes his Irish tour tomorrow night in Ballymena after it was postponed when his infant son was rushed to hospital.

Northern Ireland’s top illusionist cancelled a gig in Armagh late last month at short notice when three-month-old George suddenly became ill and required intensive care treatment at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.

Following the shock announcement, hundreds of friends and fans posted messages of support and prayer online. A gig due to take place the following day at the An Grianan Theatre in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, was also cancelled.

The popular star of the Make Believe television programme then released a statement thanking the public for the support he and wife Elaine had received.

George suffered health complications following his birth in January, two weeks after his due date.

He had stabilised considerably, but suffered a relapse. The nature of his illness has not yet been made public.

The cancelled shows in Armagh and Letterkenny were among performances rescheduled after dates in January were cancelled.
