Justice Minister David Ford has attended a drama production examining the experiences of victims of human trafficking.

He visited the ‘Diablo House Simulation’, a drama installation being staged at Titanic Belfast as part of No More Traffik Here week.

Mr Ford yesterday said events like these play a crucial role in highlighting the issue of human trafficking.

He said: “This is a graphic portrayal of the realities human trafficking victims may face. It makes for uncomfortable viewing and reinforces how important it is we work to ensure Northern Ireland becomes a hostile environment where this appalling crime cannot be allowed to gain a foothold.”

Last month, two human trafficking arrests were made as part of Operation Burgrave, a joint operation between the PSNI and Swedish police.
