Keady family escapes farmhouse fire

Three people have escaped from a fire at a farmhouse in Keady.

The Fire Service was called at around 2.20pm yesterday after an Aga oil cooker in the detached house on the Darkley Road caught fire.

Those in the house at the time are understood to have been an elderly couple and their daughter.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service station commander in Portadown, Mark Fell, said: “I would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to check their smoke alarms.”
