A woman accused of “slashing” her partner’s face with a knife has had her bail conditions relaxed by a judge — so she can attend a Lady Gaga concert.
Hayley Mitchell is alleged to have attacked the man on two occasions this month.
Opposing bail, a police witness told the court that the pair had “a very toxic relationship”.
Ms Mitchell (32), from Sullenboy Park in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, was charged with wounding her partner with intent, causing grievous bodily harm.
She was granted bail and ordered to live with her mother, abide by a curfew from 8pm to 8am and refrain from alcohol or entering licensed premises. But the conditions will be relaxed so she can go to Saturday night's Lady Gaga gig at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.
Dungannon Magistrates Court heard police attending reports of a domestic dispute found the alleged victim with slash marks to his face and a cut to his head.
Deputy district judge Philip Mateer asked how the slash wounds had come about and was told the pair had been drinking in her kitchen. The victim was said to have turned away and felt a thump to his head, to which he told the woman: “You’re a psycho — this is why you got your children removed.”
She is then alleged to have attacked him with a knife.
A defence barrister said his client claimed she had been contacted by the alleged victim after the incident, who had threatened he would go to the police if she did not take him back.
The judge said he would grant bail subject to “stringent conditions”. Bail was set at £500 but this is to be relaxed to allow Ms Mitchell to see Lady Gaga.
