A Belfast pub owner has been fined a total of £450 for breaches of its entertainments licence.

Joyce Greens, owner of the John Hewitt bar in the Cathedral Quarter, was also ordered to pay costs of £69 in relation to two separate offences.

It followed a routine inspection of the premises on August 24, 2012, when the number of patrons exceeded the maximum permitted, and the fire log book had not been kept up to date, as required by the terms of the entertainments licence.

The prosecution was brought by Belfast City Council.
