Lark in the Park car rally makes welcome return

A motorsport rally is set to return to the Lark in the Park festival in Londonderry for the first time in years.

The Stage Rally will again be raced around St Columb's Park on Saturday, April 27 as part of the 2013 UK City of Culture celebrations.

The event became a major attraction with competitors and rally fans as well as with the wider public when it was staged in Derry over previous years.

Innovations to highlight Derry’s status as UK City of Culture include a revised route for the five stages in St Columb's Park, with the service park being located at Ebrington Square .

Event director Declan McCay said: “I am delighted the event is back thanks to the support of Derry City Council, Ilex and The Culture Company.

“It will be a great family day out with the opportunity for spectators to see rally action in the heart of the city.”
