Paint was thrown at the monument at White Brae, Squire's Hill, which marks the IRA killing of three Scottish soldiers in 1971.

The criminal damage was reported on Monday but police could not say when it is believed to have taken place..

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tennent Street Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
