The full programme for Londonderry’s year as the first UK City of Culture will be revealed today.
The Culture Company's chief executive told the Telegraph it was being inundated with offers over recent weeks as the city's profile soared across the world.
Shona McCarthy said that the new £5m Vital Venue in Derry and recent high profile accolades have resulted in numerous music promoters offering to bring top names to the city.
There has been so much interest that an updated programme will now have to be drafted and unveiled in November.
The Vital Venue at Ebrington will hold up to 2,000 people seated and more than 4,000 standing.
It is expected that at least 140 major events and projects will be confirmed for 2013.
Ms McCarthy was remaining tight-lipped about the forthcoming content but warned: “prepare to be blown away”.
“People will be really surprised by the scale, it is really, really huge,” she said. “I still don’t know if the city has quite realised what is about to happen here.”
