A Belfast man has appeared in court charged with raping a woman in the city.
Gary Skelly is accused of carrying out the sex attack on December 15 last year.
Standing in the dock at Belfast Magistrates Court yesterday, the 25-year-old, of Norglen Drive in the city, spoke to confirm he understood the charge. A police officer said she could connect him with the alleged offence.
Skelly was remanded on continuing bail to appear again in four weeks' time.
As he was leaving the court a woman in the public gallery screamed abuse at him.
