A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and rape.
The accused also faces counts of sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and two assaults on police.
The charges are in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 33-year-old woman in the Mallusk area of greater Belfast early on Sunday.
The man is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
