A man has been arrested after another man sustained facial injuries in a suspected machete attack in Belfast.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to hospital with what police described as a "large gash" to his face after the incident at a flat in Edlingham Street in the early hours of Sunday.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detectives have urged witnesses to come forward.
