A 26-year-old man has been arrested in England in connection with the murder of a Co Armagh dairy farmer.
Victor Stewart was found battered to death at his remote farmhouse near Middletown in October, 2008.
The murder of the 45-year-old sent shockwaves through the close-knit rural community.
Mr Stewart was well-known, lived alone and was described by police as not the sort of person to easily make enemies.
At the time detectives confirmed he had suffered a “violent” death but officers said they were unable to establish a motive.
Local sources said Mr Stewart had been found in chair covered in blood in the living room of his isolated property on the Creevekeeran Road when an animal feed salesman called to the house on October 22, 2008.
One man was arrested on October 28, 2008 but was released without charge. Last night, however, police said a man had been arrested in the Bristol area.
