Man charged over stabbing incident

A charity which has helped people affected by crime for more than 30 years has said victims are finally being listened to

A 22-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a teenager in Magherafelt.

The 17-year-old male was stabbed in the incident in the Rainey Street area of the town in the early hours of Saturday.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The charged man also faces two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear in court in Londonderry on Monday.
