A 65-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Union flag protests in Belfast.

Detectives from the Operation Dulcet Enquiry Team detained the man in the south of the city on Saturday afternoon.

He was being quizzed on suspicion of offences relating to the protests, which have been ongoing since December when Belfast City Council voted to limit the number of days the flag could fly at City Hall.

The 65-year-old was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
