A man is being questioned after a teenager was seriously injured in a stabbing

A man is being questioned after a teenager was seriously injured in a stabbing.

The 19-year-old victim remains in a serious condition in hospital after the knife attack in Edward Street, Newry, Co Down, shortly before 9pm last night.

The PSNI said a 24-year-old suspect remains in custody and is helping detectives with their inquiries.

Police are appealing for information.
