Man shot in foot during armed robbery on home

Detectives in Antrim Road are appealing for information following an armed robbery in the Hannaghglen Heights area of West Belfast in the early hours of this morning, Monday 6 May.

At approximately 1am, four masked men, two of which are believed to have been armed with sawn off shotguns, forced their way into a house by smashing a door at the rear of the property with hatchet and hammer.

They tied up the occupants of the house, before taking the keys and making off in a black VW Beetle that was later found abandoned in the Glenveagh Park area.

A firearm was discharged during the incident. One of the male occupants sustained minor injuries to his foot as a result of the incident.
