Man stable after River Bann fall

A man is in a stable condition in hospital after falling into the River Bann in Coleraine.

It’s understood the victim fell into the river in the Waterside area of the Co Londonderry town shortly before 5pm yesterday.

Emergency services attended the scene a short time later with police pulling the man to shore using a life belt.

He was taken to the Causeway Hospital.
