A 43-year-old man was assaulted in Coleraine by another male in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, which happened in Killowen Street at around 1.45am.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to facial injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Witnesses are asked to call  the non-emergency number, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
