Two shops in east Belfast have been targeted in early morning robbery bids.
A supermarket in the Newtownards Road area was the first premises hit when three males with scarves over their faces entered at around 8.30am on Tuesday.
Police said the raiders made off empty-handed towards a waiting car in the Dee Street area.
Ten minutes later, three males robbed a shop in the Belmont Church Road area.
An amount of cigarettes was taken.
During the second incident another member of the gang is understood to have stayed outside waiting in a dark green car, with KAZ as part of its registration number.
Anyone with any information about the incidents is asked to contact police.
