Detectives in west Belfast are appealing for information following a vehicle hijacking during which a motorist was threatened with a knife — the third such attack in the city in a week.
It happened in the Distillery Street area on Wednesday.
It was reported that at around 6.45pm a man armed with a knife threatened the driver of a black Volkswagen Golf and made off in the vehicle in the direction of the Royal Victoria Hospital.
The man is described as being around 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a black hoodie with a scarf covering his face. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
On Tuesday a man was injured after his delivery van has hijacked by men also armed with knives.
The incident happened in the Maryville Park area of Malone in south Belfast shortly before 10.30am.
And last Saturday men who took a car on a test drive at Kennedy Way in west Belfast pulled a gun and a knife on the owner before making off in the vehicle.
