Sinn Fein has condemned those behind a pipe-bomb attack in north Belfast.
Police and Army bomb disposal squad were called out to Spamount Street in the New Lodge after the object was discovered yesterday morning.
A number of houses were evacuated and traffic diversions put in place. The Army later said the bomb was "viable".
North Belfast MLA Carál Ní Chuilín said: "Spamount Street is populated with families, many with young children and young people, some of whom had to be evacuated from their homes.
"To leave a viable device is more than reckless, it is endangering the lives of the people who live here."
