Nominate your favourite picnic spot

The hunt is on to find the best picnic spot in Northern Ireland.

Tourist chiefs are calling on the public to nominate their favourite place for rolling out the blanket and opening the hamper.

The quest to identify the region's top outdoor lunch location is part of a UK-wide search undertaken by Kingsmill bread.

Whether it is on the banks of Fermanagh's lakes or high up in the Mountains of Mourne, picnic lovers have been asked to nominate their preferred 'Lunch Spot' using an internet app.

Ruth Burns from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board said: "There are so many great locations across Northern Ireland to visit and set up your own Lunch Spots.

"We all have our favourites so we're delighted to be involved in the launch of Kingsmill's UK wide campaign. By submitting your favourite entry, not only are you in with a chance to win a great prize but it's also an ideal way for people to share the perfect ideas for lunch areas to visit across Northern Ireland."

People can nominate their top location at www.facebook.com/Kingsmill. Those who nominate could be in with a chance of a winning a £1,500 holiday voucher.

Victoria Brown from Allied Bakeries, which makes Kingsmill, said: "We're delighted to be launching a campaign to find out what our favourite places are to eat lunch.

"We'd encourage everyone across Northern Ireland to get involved by visiting the Kingsmill Facebook page and making their nomination to make sure that Northern Ireland is represented in the UK wide competition."
