Northern Ireland academy for best BBQ steak

A Northern Ireland garden centre has launched a barbecue academy to teach meat-lovers how to create the perfect steak in time for summer.

The new academy, opened at Hillmount, will teach all the top tips to individual cooks as well as groups of between nine and 12 people.

The academy was launched as it unveiled a new line at the garden centre, a £6000 Weber barbecue, which is understood to be the most expensive one in Ireland.

The new academy is part of a £500,000 extension at the east Belfast garden centre which has created ten new jobs and “transformed the business”, according to managing director Alan Mercer who told the Daily Mirror “our customers not only want to shop here but they want to be trained in the products they’re purchasing”.
