Omagh couple killed as car and lorry collide

Two people have died following a road accident near Omagh.

They have been named as 64-year-old Robert Samuel Rutledge and 63-year-old Doris Rutledge, who are both from the Omagh area. It was reported last night that they are husband and wife.

The tragedy occurred at the Barony Road, Mountfield, near the Killyclogher Road, between Cookstown and Omagh, around 1pm yesterday.

It is understood the collision involved a Nissan Almera and an articulated lorry.

The driver of lorry has been spoken to by police and his injuries are not believed to be serious.
