Two men have been arrested and charged following an attempted armed robbery in Banbridge.
The incident occurred at a petrol station on the Aughnacloy Road at around 3.20pm on Friday.
Two men threatened a female member of staff with an iron bar and tried to make off with a till but left empty handed.
Police then found a vehicle stopped in the area and arrested one man.
The other male was found nearby.
Both men - aged 28 and 25 - were charged with attempted robbery and going equipped for theft.
The 28-year-old was also charged with obstructing police and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
The pair will appear before Banbridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
