Pair suffer broken arms in bat and hammer attacks in Carrickfergus

Two men have suffered broken arms after bat and hammer attacks in Carrickfergus.

The two attacks took place within 10 minutes of each other in the town on Monday night.

At around 10.20pm a gang of masked men burst into a house in the Sunnylands Grove area and attacked one man using wooden bats.

He was taken to hospital and treated for a suspected broken arm.

Moments later at around 10.30pm masked men attacked one man at a house in the Pinewood Avenue.

He suffered two broken arms in the attack.

Also at around 10.30pm police received reports of a masked gang kicking in the front door of a house in the Knocklade area.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
