Detectives have released this photograph of a cannabis farm that was raided in Ahoghill.

The Organised Crime Branch uncovered the drugs farm at premises in the Old Portglenone Road area on the evening of Monday, April 29.

The plants seized have a street value of £450,000.

DI Andy Dunlop Organised Crime said: "The photograph shows the scale of the operation, which resulted in the seizure of cannabis plants which would have had a potential street value in the region of £450,000.

"This investigation has reduced the potential harm to the community.

“The people of Northern Ireland can be assured that we will continue to robustly and proactively investigate those people who try to bring drugs into our communities and endeavour to bring them before the courts.”

Chief Inspector John Magill, area commander for Ballymena, praised the operation: "This success has dealt a massive blow to drug dealers and organised crime.

"I and my officers will continue to work with our Organised Crime colleagues to ensure that the threat to our community posed by drugs is significantly reduced and together with the help of our local communities we can make our streets safer.”

Police are appealing to local communities and individuals that they should bring any information relating to drugs to local police.
