Proposals set to kick start and revitalise an area of Belfast city centre have been unveiled.
The package of ambitious regeneration plans for the ‘Northside’ area include a new public square and a gateway site.
A £3m Library Square plan could transform Little Donegall Street and Library Street — close to Central Library and the University of Ulster — into a “an iconic meeting place”.
And if a second proposal—the BT1 Gateway— is approved a hotel, foodstore and car park with 80 spaces could be developed on the 1.2 acre site at the junction of Carrick Hill, North Street, Peter's Hill and Millfield. Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has launched consultations into the two projects.
The closing date for comments is February 22.
