Police were called to deal a 'street rave' in Belfast city centre involving dozens of youths.

A group of youths were photographed drinking in the middle of the street in the Wellwood Road area of Sandy Row on Wednesday night.

It's understood music was played from a parked car.

The street was also barricaded using a number of wooden pallets.

Police were called to deal with the gathering.

A PSNI spokesman said:

"Police received reports of youths having gathered in the area of Wellwood Road area last night, Wednesday, July 2.

"Police attended and spoke with the youths and local representatives.

"Police will continue to monitor the area."
