Police in north Belfast are investigating the discovery of human remains in a garden in the Antrim Road area.
It is understood a home owner discovered a human bone while digging in his garden last Thursday. Police have cordoned off the garden and have had a patrol car at the house since the discovery last week.
The police are intending to carry out a full excavation of the garden.
A source told the Belfast Telegraph that the find is thought to be “historical”.
A police spokesman said: “It has not yet been determined whether a crime was committed in connection with the remains.”
