Two 19-year-old men have been arrested after a crash between a suspected stolen motorcycle and a car, leaving a man seriously injured.

The collision took place on the Longshot area of Doagh shortly before 4.30am on Saturday.

The injured rider, who is in his 20s, was on the blue Honda motorcycle which police believe was stolen in a 'creeper burglary' from the Station Road area of Doagh earlier that morning.

Police stopped a Vauxhall Astra on the same road - also believed to have been stolen, from a creeper burglary in in the Deerpark Road area.

Officers arrested the two 19-year-olds who were travelling in the Astra and are understood to be friends of the injured man.

Both have been charged with three counts of burglary, aggravated vehicle-taking causing injury and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

One of the men has also been charged with causing death or grievous bodily injury by careless driving. He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday, while his co-accused is due to appear before the same court on June 11.

The injured rider was taken to hospital for treatment for 'serious' injuries.
