Holywood’s superstar golfing talent Rory McIlroy is to join a raft of Irish celebrities and personalities adorning the walls at Dublin Airport’s recently opened Terminal Two.

The major ‘Faces of Ireland’ exhibition by renowned Irish photographer Kevin Abosch will be held at the airport over the next 12 months.

Around 250 people were photographed for the exhibition including well-known Irish faces such as President Mary McAleese, actor Gabriel Byrne, Taoiseach Enda Kenny and singer Sinead O’Connor.

The collection’s creator said the images were designed to “show everyone as equals”.

This year’s US Open winner McIlroy is one of the few famous faces from Northern Ireland to make it into the collection.

With his stunning win at this year’s event in Maryland, the 22-year-old rising star has certainly become a famous face the world over and will welcome the millions of passengers visiting Ireland over the next year.
