The Finance Minister has said the Ulster Bank’s £20 compensation for customers who were affected by a major IT glitch is seen as “derisory”.
Details of the compensation package were only revealed at the end of August — 10 weeks after the massive computer breakdown crisis began on June 19.
Customers were left in limbo for over a month during the debacle.
Sammy Wilson told the Assembly that £20 after the recent upheaval was “not adequate”.
“I suspect that, at the end of the day, despite what Ulster Bank will do to compensate them for the problems, many people will still be very unhappy,” he told MLAs.
“The important thing now is that the Financial Services Authority has demanded a review (of the crisis)... and I am looking forward to seeing that,” he added.
