A man accused of sexually assaulting a female jogger had an opened condom in his wallet, the High Court has heard.
Prosecutors claimed the contraceptive found on Thomas Ward was ready for use at short notice.
The 23-year-old allegedly grabbed the woman and then chased her while she was out running in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.
Ward, with an address at Antrim Road, Belfast, faces a charge of sexual assault over the alleged attack on February 1. He was refused bail.
The alleged victim had spotted him on the town's Lissan Road and realised he was following her, according to the prosecution.
Crown counsel Nicola Auret claimed Ward only turned and ran in the opposite direction when the woman began to scream.
CCTV footage from shops in the area has been obtained as part of the case against the accused.
