A man who pleaded guilty to committing a series of public order offences in Londonderry, including breaching a police security cordon during a bomb alert on the Craigavon Bridge last month, has been given a three-month jail sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Patrick Farren (19), from Lettershandoney Avenue in Drumahoe, breached the security cordon during a bomb alert on September 2.
He also admitted earlier public order offences at the Translink bus terminal in Foyle Street in March and at the Springtown Industrial Estate in July of this year.
Suspending the sentence, District Judge Barney McElholm warned Farren that if he appeared in court again for public order offences he would go straight to jail.
