Three police officers 'abused on racial grounds'

Three police officers have claimed they were bullied or harassed because of their race, it has been revealed.

The PSNI officers, including a police inspector, have claimed they were racially bullied or harassed, with investigations into two of the allegations resulting in no action, with the remaining one still pending.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The PSNI Bullying and Harassment Policy was implemented in January 2005; therefore data can only be retrieved from this date. There have been 3 allegations of racism recorded against employees.”

In each of the cases, involving an Inspector, a Constable and Support Grade Band 1 employee, the complainants claimed they were bullied/harassed on the grounds of their race and their cases were investigated internally via the PSNI Bullying & Harassment Procedure.
