Three sought after failed robbery at bureau de change on Newry's Old Dublin Road

Police are searching for a gang who attempted to rob a man at a bureau de change.

The victim suffered minor head injuries after two men attempted to rob him of an envelope containing cash on Newry's Old Dublin Road at around 4.30pm on Saturday. The suspects fled empty-handed in a Silver Mazda 626 vehicle, along with a third man who was also inside the getaway car.

The first suspect is described as being around 30 years old and stocky. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a royal blue top and a baseball cap.

The second suspect is in his mid to late 20s and of slim build. He was wearing a chequed shirt.

Anyone who saw the getaway car in the Newry area on Saturday or witnessed the incident should contact police.
