Three taken to hospital after serious road crash in Carrickfergus

A woman had to be cut from a car after a serious three car road crash in Carrickfergus.

The 'high-speed impact' smash happened on the North Road in Carrickfergus at around 6.30pm on Thursday evening.

One woman was trapped and had to be cut free from her vehicle.

Three people were injured in the accident.

Two were taken to Antrim Area Hospital and the third to Belfast's Royal Victoria.

Their condition is not yet known.

The North Road remains closed along with two others including sections of the Marshallstown and Middle Roads.
