Two charged over explosive offences

Police have charged a man and a woman with explosives offences

Police in Northern Ireland investigating dissident republicanism have charged two people with explosives offences.

The suspects, a man aged 39 and a woman aged 32, were arrested on Monday in Londonderry.

They face charges of possession of explosives with intent to endanger life and possession of items for an act of terrorism, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

The man faces a further charge of collecting material last year likely to be of use to terrorists.

Both suspects are due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.
