A 40-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed in the chest when he was attacked at his east Belfast home.
The victim suffered one stab wound as well as further cuts and bruises when he was set upon at the house in the Edith Street area around 10.30pm on Tuesday. The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
Two men, aged 23 and 58, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm, as well as possession of an offensive weapon. They were in custody yesterday.
