A total of four cars were involved in the smash on the M2 northbound shortly before 5pm on this evening.

According to police two people who were injured have been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

The crash led to huge delays and tailbacks in and around Belfast City Centre with a number of lanes having been closed for a time.

They have since reopened.
