Up to 50 jobs at risk as Newry building firm enters administration

A Newry building firm has entered administration - putting some 50 jobs at risk.

Garrivan and O'Rourke - set up in the 1980s - has blamed the continued downturn in the construction sector, it has been reported.

Some of the company's work included Housing Executive contracts.

The announcement came as employees of the Housing Executive contractor held pickets earlier today - claiming their wages have not been paid for over a week, according to UTV.
