Warning following child 'abduction' bid

Police are urging parents to be vigilant after a suspicious approach was made to a schoolgirl in Co Down.

Sometime between 1pm and 1.15pm on Wednesday, a secondary school pupil was walking on the Darragh Road, Newtownards, when a car stopped close by.

The occupants asked the girl to get in and when she refused the occupants got out and approached her.

The girl ran off back to school. The vehicle is described as large and green-coloured, with blacked-out windows.
