Woman charged in dissident probe

Officers from the PSNI serious crime branch have charged a woman with attempting to possess criminal property and perverting the course of justice

A 21-year-old woman has been charged by detectives investigating dissident republican activity in Northern Ireland.

She was charged with attempting to possess criminal property and perverting the course of justice.

The woman was detained by officers from the PSNI serious crime branch in the Whiterock area of west Belfast on Tuesday.

She is due to appear at Laganside Magistrates' Court on January 10.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the charges could be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
