A 26-year-old woman has been arrested after a traffic warden was stuck by a car in Co Tyrone.

She was held on suspicion of dangerous driving, common assault, failing to stop and failure to remain at the scene after an attendant was struck by a car in Omagh on Friday.

It was reported that a silver Honda Accord hit a warden outside a shop in the High Street area at around 2.50pm.

According to police, it is believed that a number of people were in the area at the time of the incident who might be able to assist with their enquiries.

The woman arrested has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
