Woman injured in knifeman attack

A woman aged 21 was assaulted while walking in the Old Springfield Road area of Antrim

A woman has been left badly shaken after she was assaulted by a man armed with a knife.

The 21-year-old victim was walking in the Old Springfarm Road area of Antrim when she was attacked at around 11.45pm on Friday.

She managed to get away from the man, who was believed to have a Belfast accent, but suffered injuries to her back and elbow.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses.

The man was described as aged in his 20s, of medium build, around 5ft 7in and with short, dark, gelled hair.

He also had thick eyebrows that met in the middle, and was wearing a navy coat, black tracksuit bottoms, black gloves and black trainers with orange laces.
