OAPs attacked, house is robbed

An elderly couple and a man in his 40s were attacked as three men robbed a house in south Belfast.

They forced their way into the house on Kitchener Street around 8.20pm where they hit the younger man over the head.

One of the men covered the mouth of the older man who is in his 80s.

The trio escaped with a small amount of cash in a gold-coloured car driven by a fourth man.

The man in his 40s was treated in hospital.

Police have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the burglary to contact them.
