Magistrates gave an offender a night off his curfew so that he could go out drinking on his birthday.
Steven Webley, 21, of Coleford, Gloucestershire, told magistrates that his 7pm to 7am curfew - imposed for a public order offence - would curtail his plans to celebrate his 22nd birthday.
He applied to the bench at Gloucester Magistrates' Court for a night off the strict rules of the curfew imposed so he could go out and have a drink with his cousin.
Chairman of the bench, Brenda James, told Webley: "You have got the right bench today. We feel you have made good progress and have taken the responsible step of looking ahead, and you have come in and asked us.
"Don't get in to trouble when you go out. Don't start that again."
